Hi all,

I've made my first imperial stout which is just finishing primary now. I originally planned this beer to have cherries added during secondary and aged with sherry cask chunks as I want this to be a Christmas beer.

Now I'm having second thoughts with it being my first imp stout- I'm just looking for advice on what to do. Should I just use the cask chunks, or go with the fruit, or nothing at all?

I also had the idea of soaking the cask chunks in port, or using cacao nibs..got a lot of ideas floating around but need help making a decision!

Here's the recipe : http://brewgr.com/recipe/12976/cherry-winter-stout-batch-2-recipe?public=true

If it were me, I would leave it as it is. As it's your first Imperial Stout see how good it is without any extras, and then you can decide what you would like to add to your next go. But that's just me...!
