I'm looking for a beer recipe I can't find ( Samson Dark Original Black Lager)

It's a pity you don't have temperature control. WLP802 yeast is the same strain this brewery uses (I believe) but is a lager yeast so needs to ferment at low temps. If you have to ferment at ale temperatures then pick a clean yeast with low esters e.g. US05.

No problem if you dont have the kit for making a true lager/cold fermentation, you could do a pseudo lager. But I wouldn't attempt it during summer if you have zero temp control. You can either use a clean ale yeast and ferment as cool as you can or a little known fact is that you can ferment lager yeast at ale temps and again ferment as cool as you can.
For the cold conditioning phase I strongly suspect you can use mini kegs, a picnic cool bag and some ice bottles but I need to conduct some further experiments on that during the winter
 
so if I use a lager recipe , but use ale yeast, would I come close to a similar taste /crisp profile?
have you tried a brewing a batch before?

I know that where I live at the moment, I don't have temperature control. but I like the clean crisp taste of pilsners and lagers.

note: I'm drinking a "weizenbock" at the moment, and it's not my cup of tea.
 
Personally, I dont think you would. I know the distinctive clean crisp taste you are after which you get in Czech pilsners. I love it! By all means try it with an ale yeast, many do, you'll still get great beer but not quite the real thing. And +1 to myquls comment, "brew in winter". Then you can just leave the fv outside.

You could try Mangrove Jacks Californian Lager yeast. It's and ale yeast (fermentation temps 18C-20C on the instructions)but gives lager like results. Forumite MickDundee says it gave a crisp clean flavour to his steam beer. I'm making a Helles Pseudo Lager for my next but one brew and will be trying this yeast out
