So SWMBO is on at me that we should get a soda stream. Get this, she wants it purely to make sparking water from the tap water...because then she "would have sparking water literally...on tap!"

Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit mental? That's not all she comes out with these ridiculous nuggets all the time

How much sparkling water do you consume in your house?!!!

Like in our house, My Mrs thinks we have to have every kitchen gizmo under the sun! All of them been used about 3 times in the last 5 years.... :x

Tesco value sparkling water is a lot cheaper.

To quote the women herself when I tried this approach, "I don't like the cheap stuff...it's not as fizzy".

She honestly drinks a 2l bottle every day, and will probably take a small one to work as well

I'd have my money back in a month

In the interests of fairness Mr C if you said to her " What I'm going to do is get a load of grain, soak it in hot water, wash it,boil it (possibly with kettles that I have taken apart) with a few dried plants, bung in some yeast & let it bubble away, then forget about it for two months and then pour the lot down my neck" she might indeed give you a very old fashioned look.

There's logic there somewhere

Well if that's the case get one, I'm all for saving money! :D

Go for it, means you can make any sweet cider/alcopoppydrink you like and just force carb it. I've done almost an entire keg of cider in using my sodastream lol.

It's fantastic, I also made alcoholic Irn Bru and gassed it up with the sodastream after back sweetening with the same quantity of sugar as is in Irn Bru. Tasted EXACTLY like Vodka & Irn Bru :D

:hmm: :hmm:

I never really considered the alcoholic possibilities with a soda stream...swmbo early birthday present here you go!

Yup, has some huge advantages. You can effectively back sweeten anything you like with full blown sugar and then immediately just carb it up in the sodastream.

Alcoholic Irn Bru back sweetened to the level of actual Irn Bru (100g per litre) and then carbonated in the sodastream.
