Hi,
I've been kit brewing for 7 months or so and would like to step over to AG brewing. I'm at that time when I'm contemplating buying used equipment - as I've got a limited budget (£100) and limited technical skills (to weld etc).If you had the opportunity to start again what would you have done differently (baring in mind the budget) as to boiler (type and size),masher and the rest.
Lengthy for a first question, but I'm sure there are some stories out there!
Cheers,
Cwrw

I would have bought the Hop and Grape 10 Gallon Brewery Kit

Bodging together my 5 gallon brewery really held me back when I started . . . it made brewing hard work . . . what with limited buckets, mash tun space, badly designed mash/hop screens. Lifting buckets of near boiling water above head height.

If i had my time over againg, i would skip the kits and move straight onto AG. The results are better.
Also as aleman says i would have gone for the 10 galon H+G boiler instead of the 5 galon Electrum.

Also if you have a budget of £100 you can easily build a AG brewery.

Hi and welcome to he forum Cwrw
Four months into AG brewing and I'd say follow others recipes first, which I did with my first brew, but then started making my own concoctions that weren't as good.

What do you think of the idea of an old water boiler and also how would I modify something like this?..and since were on topic how are electrims rated against bruheat etc ?
Cheers,Cwrw
