Mentioned in this thread already, but the boss buck tripod looks great. It splits to 4 parts for storage (base and 3 legs) and already has a pulley fitted. You can even insert timber legs if you like living on the edge.
something along the lines of a mechanics engine removing hoist might do but obviously not too industrial. They are on wheels so easy to position. Just a thought
Have you thought about using a folding engine crane? It will lift a fair old weight and then you fold it up and put it in the corner until you need it again. You can get them from Machine Mart
thank you for all the advise. Im going with a timber structure with a low geared motor on top. It will bug me like mad however as my brewery is brilliant white and clean looking. wood structure dosnt fit in!
