idea for HLT

so I inherited a buffalo coffee peculator. At least that's what I think you'd call it

it does 100 cups. I was thinking I could use it as a HLT and also cut some time off brewday- buy a plug with a timer on it, so by the time I'm up out of bed, the hlt has been on for a while and the water i need for mt is nearly at strike temp

I've given it a good soak in oxyclean

my question is, considering it's been used, will it flavour the water too much with coffee?

any thoughts?

If it's stripped down and given a good soak, pipe work, tap, that's if it's possible to strip. Wash & rinse there's no reason why it shouldn't be ok for the job. A photo may help as the other guys may use something like it anyway.

By the looks of it it isn't very big only 15l . I would say you need something twice that size.

yeah, it does 100 cups. figured i'd need to use it twice- for mash and then for sparge- thought it'd work though because with the time it's mashing, I could heat new spare water.
