so I inherited a buffalo coffee peculator. At least that's what I think you'd call it

it does 100 cups. I was thinking I could use it as a HLT and also cut some time off brewday- buy a plug with a timer on it, so by the time I'm up out of bed, the hlt has been on for a while and the water i need for mt is nearly at strike temp

I've given it a good soak in oxyclean

my question is, considering it's been used, will it flavour the water too much with coffee?

any thoughts?

thanks

matthew

By the looks of it it isn't very big only 15l . I would say you need something twice that size. :(

yeah, it does 100 cups. figured i'd need to use it twice- for mash and then for sparge- thought it'd work though because with the time it's mashing, I could heat new spare water.

Great for a stout

I wouldn't worry if you have inherited it then give it a go to see if it is viable to use. :thumb:
