well this was my first go so i got my self a home brewing kit for about 70 quid and i did it all according to the instructions that came with the 2 cans put it all in the bucket kept it at the right temp waited untill it finished doing its thing then cleaned out the preasurised barell and syphoned the contents in to the barrell with the correct amount of sugar BUT this is where it all went wrong .......
i did not know about all the gunk at the bottom of the bucket and the instructions did not mention it so i put the hose at the bottom and a fair bit went in to the barrell
and as i expected 10 weeks down the line i have a cloudy beer

is there anything other than feed the plants with it

mant thanks

does it taste bad or is it just cloudy?

If its just cloudy, go to brew shop and get some finings, unscrew barrel lid add finings, put lid on add co2 then shake it up and leave for a couple of weeks, it should clear ok.

if it tastes bad water the cabbages with it.

it dont taste bad but not good either so i guess the apple tree gets it on monday
damm i guess ill start again
ill try once more then ill just keep going to the supermarket

Don't bin it yet! It might just be the taste of the yeast in suspension Add the finnings and get it cold for a week then make a decision!

Finings will drag the suspended yeast to the bottom and give you a bright beer. Do a search for Gelatine on the forum, there are a few posts about using that, it's nice and available from the supermarkets. :thumb:

Don't give up dude!, It's easy to sort out and I'm sure the next batch will restore your confidence

Calm down! Its just a bit of yeast.

It'll be fine. It should mostly settle out on its own in any case. I invariably get a few big glugs of sediment in my kegs, doesnt stop them clearing.

yeahaaaa
i took 1 last glass from it brfore the vegetable patch got it and it is crystal clear so ive drunk 6 pints just to check it and its great
cheers guys

i suppose all good things come to those who wait
