Brewing in a bag ,in Northampton
its about time i restarted,

it seems a lot warmer,
im getting ready to start biabing...

but i have a coopers kit sitting here and think i should get it done..!!
maybe shortbrewed with less sugar for a better taste.. :hmm:

come on man get a grip

I've just done a stock check down 'The Den' and I'm wondering how long to leave it until the next brew goes on, I'm down to the last 156 bottles here

OAA Yuma Brew x 37

2 x cases of 12 mixed brews set aside from last year

oh yes and a 2 ltr pop bottle I set aside, the remains of a brew I made somewhere round November last year

think it's about time I got my planning head on, cutting it a bit fine, don't want to run out

ok guys...

bucket and fermenter are sterilized, coopers kit is warming in the a/cupboard,
need to pick a yeast for it.... :hmm:
gotta check to see if we have any sugar.. :?

i do have 60+ bottles of wine , various ciders real and turbo, ginger beers, and around 30 pints of beers and lager, stored away,

never done the coopers b4 , and ive had it 3 months.... :D

its done... and in the fermenter.....

this may be my last kit b4 my biab starts... :hmm:

i made a few changes...[nowt interestin really]

boiled, 6 pints water in a stock pot

put 1 pint into the fv,
opened the can of malt and added it to fv

filled the empty sticky can with hot water,
put half a kilo a sugar in the fv,

then emptied the can of hot water in
added the rest of the water from the stockpot...
then added the remaining half kilo of sugar into the fv,

this way i did not boil the sugar in the stockpot, i never thought it was a good idea,
...so had no sticky pot to clean,

carried the fv up stairs, with a lid on giving it a good shake as it went,[its a fermenter with a large cap and two handles]
added 3 gallons of water treated with a camden tablet, in the spare room,
it was cool enough to pitch the starter that i started before dinner....

just waiting for the 1st sign of life through the air lock....

sorry for rattlin on .. but its good to have some fermenting going on after 4 months....

well she took over 12 hrs to get going but its bubblin like a goodun,

the warmer weather is a lot better for brewing than it was in nov...
a thermometer tucked in the jacket around the fv is reading 22 deg...

i have bottled this now,
and it tasted very nice from the fv....
no twang to it or any weird tastes... it is quite dark though like a bitter [ im pleasantly surprised.... ]

a quick question.. :?:
i have popped the bottles in the airing cupboard its around 20 deg,
and the pet bottles have now hardened up .. is the 2 days they have had in there enough... :wha:

i have left them for a week before...

i feel they could go possibly go back into the spare room at around 15 deg... :hmm:
