Good afternoon brewers. I want to brew a HSB clone, it was a Gales Ales brew originally from Horndean. My problem is finding a yeast very close to a Wyeast-northwest 1332. Can anyone please advise.
Thanks a lot for both of those suggestions. Perfect.According to @dmtaylor's spreadsheet, WLP041 Pacific Ale is similar (if not the same).

There's a claim in the description that this was originally a Gales yeast.
Breathing and drinking are two of my long term goals! But I'm more Gen 69"Oxygenation and/or rehydration may not be needed for generation zero but may be beneficial."
Am I missing something here?Good afternoon brewers. I want to brew a HSB clone, it was a Gales Ales brew originally from Horndean. My problem is finding a yeast very close to a Wyeast-northwest 1332. Can anyone please advise.
I've no idea if that is really a Gales yeast but I did use it in a Porter in November. It fermented hard for 2 days and is the first fermentation that I've had to refrigerate to stop it running away under its own heat. The end result is very tasty too.https://www.themaltmiller.co.uk/product/whc-dried-yeast-old-english-11g-packet/?v=79cba1185463

Wyeast 1332 is supposedly the Gales yeast via an American brewery.Am I missing something here?
Why not just but a sachet of 1332?
