I was at the south London home brew comp yesterday where i was given a Murphy and son goodies bag with bottle allkleer A and a bottle of finings adjunct. My understanding is that this goes in after the fermenting to clear the beer but how much do you use and is it good to use this or is its some thing that you don't need to be putting into your beer :wha:

AllKleer should be kept in the fridge until use, not sure about the finings adjunct but it wouldn't hurt.

Fining Adjunct should be added 24 hours before isinglass (in general), and then Isinglass I use a dose rate of 15ml per gallon, but generally between 10-30ml per gallon . . . you don't want to use too much or you'll end up with a fluffy bottom, and we all know that fluffy bottoms are to be avoided

OK thanks is allkleer the same as isinglass and how much of the fining adjunct should i use bit new to this type of fining as i have only used Irish moss as a fining up till now

AllKleer is isinglass

As for the Aux finings it depends on what you actually have, Check on the Murphys site for dosage instructions

Like A says, the Murphy site has all the data sheets, loads of info there. I used the two products on recent brews and hey, did I get very clear beer very quickly. :D

P.S. Just to "clarify ;) " things, I don't know anything about fluffy bottoms, not sure how A does. :?
