funny i own a couple of versions of that book and forgot to look at it first. thanks for links!
 
success, although took a bit longer that palmers recommendation. another interesting thing is the husks dont really brown. but the malt inside does so its easy to overdo it.

next up roasting some smoked malt to use in an upcoming rauchbier. or if its good i might throw a handful in the porter.
