Hi all

My first beer has been in the keg for three weeks and is coming on nicely. When I start to drink it I want to be able to add some CO2. I have the keg with the larger 4" neck and it came with a pressure relief valve in the lid, exactly like this http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Spare-4"-Blac...vr_id=&cguid=1f3a1dc01290a0e20221f721ffc01f37, with a pin in it for bursting the CO2 cannisters open. I also purchased a Hambleton Bard re-fillable CO2 bottle. I understand that all I need to do is remove the pin to use this bottle, but it doesn't work! The rubber seal was removed, then the pin and the seal replaced, but the bottle does not activate when I screw it on. It appears that the neck of the valve is too long, thus the plunger in the bottle is not being depressed against anything to release the gas. Do I need a different valve?

Many thanks

PP

The S30 connectors have no pin in the barrel lid side. There should be a pin on the HB CO2 bottle though, as you screw the bottle onto the lid the pin in the bottle is depressed and CO2 passes through the S30 valve.

I've never heard of an S30 valve needing a pin removing but I don't have a huge amount of experience with the S30 valves just the one on my cornie and what I've read on forums.
