...appliance?

I was just cleaning the oven and remembering a conversation at a party where the person that I was speaking to reckoned his oven was old - about 2 years. Mine is about 20 years old. It made me wonder how long people keep things for - till they die?
Here's a list of mine, what about yours? Feel free to add things:
Oven - 20 years
kettle - six months - the other one just died
vacuum cleaner - 60 years
toaster - 15 years
microwave - 6 months - the other one died after 15 years
washing machine - about 4 years
iron - three months - the other one 'got dangerous' after about six years
fridge - 15 years
chest freezer - 15 years
mobile 'phone - 8 years
telly - 3 years (I think!)
radio alarm clock - about 30 years
food processor - over 30 years - waiting for it to die completely before replacing it with another one I had over 30 years ago!
sewing machine - about 80?

I think you might have posted to the wrong forum, mate :drunk:

I thought 'The Snug' was for non-brewing related topics - just a bit of fun. Hey ho!

I really should start reading the small print... :-?

The oldest appliance in our house is… is… my wife, actually :-o She will be 41 next month. Surprised she has lasted so long. I picked her up about 20 years ago. Made her a nice Saison for her party, though :D

All our stuff is fairly new as it replaced the old stuff as it gave up, this is the oldest electric powered thing we have, its in the under stairs cupboard so is hardly used and has been there 20+ years. ("they don't make em like they used to")
