Was in here 30 years ago when I left my job, so I thought I'd revisit the pub for old times sake ! ...its packed in here and the beer is top drawer, but god....£5.40 for a pint !!!! Can't wait to get home to the keezer !!!

Are there many tattooed, bearded, tweed jacket and tight Jean wearing gentlemen in there? If so it's their fault!

Cheers

I occasionally drink in a pub in Epsom and they sometimes have 5AM on tap or another brewdog, usually way over the £4 plus mark!

My son took me to a nice pub near Mayfair recently. Don't worry I said, Ill get these what do you want ?
OK Fosters for you and a glass of that craft bitter for me then.
I got out a tenner and said to the barman, " I don't suppose there will be any change"
The answer was...
NO

There was one of those cereal bars in Kingston, where I work, for a while. But it closed down. They blamed it on the council not supporting small businesses enough.

Nothing to do with charging £5 for a bowl of American novety breakfast cereal, of course :lol:

In Newcastle lots of bars are charging £3.20 - £3.50 for cask ales per pint, more than reasonable but I can't understand that some people are paying about £5.00 for a 330ml can.
Some of these are well known breweries such as Magic rock and Beavertown but this seems to have inflated the can market for ALL canned beers. There is no way I am going to pay almost twice as much for a small can of the same stuff however much I like it, it's just a rip off ( no pun intended)
