Hey guys, my first extract brew is almost finished primary fermenting but I'm unsure abwt how much to prime 500ml bottles with spray malt? My recipe calls for priming with the spray malt but I am just unsure how much I need for each bottle? Any help is really appreciated!

I'm with Evan here. You are only trying to condition the beer not add any flavour/body etc. Half teaspoon of the tate and lyle per 500ml bottle or if batch priming them around 60-80g per 5 gallon batch it about right (if batch priming make up a syrup with some water and bring to boil on the stove, allow to cool and then add this to your bottling bucket).

Malt extract can be used at just over that recommended for sugar as it is slightly less fermentable. When Priming with DME I use the 1/2tsp as I don't particularly like fizzy beer.

I must admit though that I now only use sugar and can't really see the point of priming with malt extract (unless you are talking Speise which is completely different). Many brewers on the western side of the Atlantic ocean, use malt extract as they believe that having a bag of sugar in the same house as fermenting beer will cause cidery tastes in the beer  Or that using LME produces finer bubbles and better carbonation than sugar :wha:

Use what you feel works best for you.
