Hi everyone, I'm going to bottle a batch of oatmeal stout at the weekend and I was wondering how much priming suger to use for 500ml bottles. I've read somewhere not to use normal amounts so it doesn't go too gassy. Is that true? Ive bought a bag of muntons carbonation drops that says 2 drops per 500ml bottle. Thanks for your help. Cheers.

I've just bottled a batch of oatmeal stout.

I reduced my normal rate of priming from 3 g per 500 ml bottle to 2.7 g. I use the sugar solution and syringe method.

My recent oatmeal stout went mostly into a PB with 80gm sugar. However I did bottle a few similar to @Griff097 at 1/2tsp per 500ml bottle. The PB has worked out perfectly, I hope the bottles have too as I've given one to a mate to try.
