We're growing some hops in the garden (prima donna) and will be using some to make some beer!

Does anyone know how much of the fresh (i.e. not dried) hop should be used as an equivalent to dried? Beersmith calculates bitterness etc from dried or pellet hops but doesn't have an option to use fresh ones.

Thank you 👍🍺

It's approximately x5 for fresh hops.

its a bit tricky as you won't know your exact aa%. What I'm going to do is bitter with a dried hop so I know my bittering addition aa, then use my wet hops as late additions. Probably some at 5 minutes and the majority at knockout and then steep for an hour.

Either way you're looking at using about five times as many as dried. You'll definitely have to calculate losses to hops in your recipe!
