Hi, Iv now used my young's pressure barrel to do two brews and was wondering if its time to get a new barrel or just to replace the "o" rings and reuse it one more time.

i kinda recall somewhere that you shouldn't use it more then once so using it three times is a bad thing ?

I've been using one for 15 years. I reckon it's been used for 150 brews - that's probably 600-700 gallons of beer. I'm only on the 4th set of seals.

One thing I will say though - lose the cap and buy one with a CO2 pressure valve.

Don't know where you heard that from, as long as it a "proper" beer barrel and not a re-used keg type (you know the 5l mini ones) they can be reused many many times - my Boots metal barrel is over 30 years old and still going strong :thumb: And I use several Beer Spheres that are over 10 years old. :D

Yep thats the one.. thanks. my next question was going to be about fitting a C02 pressure cap.. not really read much about it but if you pump c02 into the barrel it makes it carbonated right or is it alittle bit more complicated then that?

you can't force carbonate in a plastic pressure barrel as they can't hold enough pressure
For that you need cornies :D

with the pressure barrels you will need to prime with sugar then keep topped up with CO2 as you despense the beer

click on links at the top of the page. It has the contact details for a guy that sells them. He comes highly recommended by people on here.
