I disagree, a hop heavy pale goes down hill after 6 weeks as hop flavour fades away but generally maltier higher gravity beers I agree with. :thumb:

this is something I'm seeing with my brews too. How do the commercial breweries manage to retain their hop flavour - especially in bottles?

They don't. They're just relying on stock turnover to keep the freshness.

I had a bottle of Punk IPA that I'd had lying around for a year the other day. A lot of the hop aroma had gone and it certainly wasn't as bitter as normal.

I agree with Rob though. Hoppy beers are meant to be drunk fresh. There's no complexity added by leaving them to age.
