How long will bried hops keep for

How long will dried leaf hops keep for if placed in an air tight plastic container.

I normally freeze mine in original packaging. Been good for about 5-6 months now.

When I first started all grain the guy at my LHBS told me that once opened, they'll keep for about 6 months in the fridge. I seem to remember someone on here saying that their strength fades over time, but to what extent I'm unsure.

I have a packet of Chinook that seems to be never ending, it's been open a few months and still has a very strong smell and seems to be still doing its job properly.

I think tightly wrapped up leaf hops will last a few months.. Pellets a year +

Vacuum packed and in the freezer, in my experience years. I think you'd still get good use out of them after a good few months if frozen, in your airtight container.
