How long after racking off?

Hello chaps,

My question is this?

How long after adding my 3oz of sugar to the racking off FV, do i leave the brew in the said FV. The reason i ask is i want to do a IPA (and most reviews have said the IPA's are a bit of a let down), and i believe i can add an extra HOP bag in to the 2nd FV, if i can how long do i leave it?
The two kits i have done so far i have left them for a week, then bottled without adding extra sugar.
All the bottles conditioned well, and i like the taste of both brews?

Normally when your adding sugar for bottling you bottle immediately. If you add sugar and then leave for a number of days then your yeast will eat the sugar and there will be no sugar left for bottle carbonation.

you could transfer the secondary, add your hop bag, leave for 5-7 days. And then prime and bottle

ok thanks for that, i will try that.I'm hoping to strat brewing tomorrow. So i will let you know how i go on.
