I have just watched Davids latest video in the how to guide forum HERE in the early part of the video he says -
For those brewing with a basic brew in a bag method the grain crush will be particularly fine this level of crush is suited to this method but is not very suitable at all for the more popular ways of brewing your own beer at home with all in one brewing systems
I hadn't given this much thought but quite a few members now own one so the question is -

How Do You Brew?

Well I just got a klarstein recirculation boiler but only done one brew on it.
Prior to that a burco boiler and coolerbox mash tun.
Plastic fermentor in a temp control fridge.
All into cornies.
 
We do it like this down here. Mash tun and copper.
We were doing cider at the time as well.

Two big pots and an igloo cool box mash tun...because of a forum member who shall remain nameless,(Strange Steve)...I also have some small bags of powder and a dinky set of scales...
 
Grainfather, not been brewing long only done around 6 brews in total.
 
Robobrew 3.1, I get the grains crushed by malt miller as part of the order. I am happy with the efficiency and the level of crush, but still learning 4 brews in.
 
All grain. I mash in a picnic box = "Mash tun". After mashing, I ladle it out into a 12l bucket - fitted with a tap and a bazooka filter - over which I put a "false bottom" of baking foil with holes punched in it. This is the "Lauter tun". I keep topping up the lauter tun with fairly hot water whilst it runs off (through a plastic tube, so minimising hot-side aeration) into a Buffalo boiler. I have not modified the boiler, so I do not achieve a vigorous boil for any length of time - certainly not a 60min continuous boil!
Apart from that, pretty normal I guess!
 
Igloo drinks cooler mash tun and 32L pot on the stove.

I also acquired a 20L tea urn that I've been using as a HLT, but am currently building it into a small RIMS system. It'll also allow me to do some parti-gyle brews, split boils, step mashes and brewing outside when sunny.
 
Explain "mildly"...

Slight queasiness at the sound of a pausing van outside , followed by palpitations and a sprint to the front door... closely followed by an emotional let down as you realise the van isn’t for you and is delivering several bags of manure for next door.

Anxious anticipation and a slight worry that I might fook the thing up on first use !

Constant watching of the Malt Miller Peanut Butter and Chocolate Milk Shake Stout In a Grainfather.

Oh..: and a mild moistness :laugh8:
