hi all.i'm doing my 2nd brew in about a week.i'm going to do a hop tea but when looking into this i keep coming across people suggesting freeze hops not used.i know this must be a numpty question to a lot of you.but when you come to reuse these frozen hops do you need to thaw them out 1st or not?.if you thaw them out can you freeze leftovers again and again

No need to thaw and you can reuse within a reasonable timeframe (they will degrade over time), try to reseal packets and push out as much air as possible before putting back in freezer

Hops usually come in a vac packed silver foil bag.

I store new bags in my coolish garage and open them to use some for a brew, then fold the bag over and stick the half used bag in the freezer. As they are dried they don't stick together so to use some more for a future brew you just open the part used bag straight from the freezer, tear off the hops you need and then re-fold the bag and bang back in the freezer.

No need to put in the freezer before you have opened the bag 1st time use, no need to thaw out any frozen hops before using them.

Same for both leaf hops and pellets.

Hope this helps ;-)
