Im half way through a book by Peter Brown called hops and glory. Its a excellent read so taught I would recommend it to you all.
the blurb.
In the eighteenth century Indian Pale Ale was specially brewed to mature on the long voyage from england to india. seeking to rediscover the original 'king of beers'. Pete Brown took a cask of original recipe IPA and recreated the 18.000-mile journey for the first time in a century and a half. Traveling by cargo ship, canal boat and tall ship from Burton to Calcutta via the cape of good hope, he encounters Brazilian pirates and gun toting Iranian guards on the way, while one question burned in his mind: what will it taste like when he got there? Hops and Glory is both hilarious travelogue and a rollicking history of beer and the drink-sodden Raj.

Just finished Man walks into a pub great read. Just about to start Hops and Glory tonight.

I wouldn't  It's an excellent travelogue but should be classed in the Christian Andersen league with regard to brewing accuracy
