I have quite a few open packs of hops, which are currently clipped shut and stored int he freezer.
I've read thats the best place as they have virtually no water so wont freeze and remain bacteria free.
I've also read the freezer is a bad place for them as ice crystals can damage the hops. Is it all a matter of opinion or is there a definitive answer?
Is it worth splashing out on something like this?

(just an example, many others on the market)

When hops are dried, they lose 80% of their weight, so are virtually moisture free.
Vacuum packing maintains this state and freezing stops deterioration.
Best results: In a vacuum, in the freezer and in the dark!

Getting a vac sealer is always a good investment, as long as your relatively serious about brewing/and or for alternative uses (meat and marinades/bbque is a lovely side line  )
If not, just fold over the wrapper a few times and seal with a peg (or such like) and bob in the freezer :thumb:
