Has anyone ever used hop oil?

I was reading one of my Dad's old books (Home brewed beers and stouts by C.J.J.Berry cira1972)
and it mentions hop oil can be used in replacement of dry hopping.
Stating one drop is enough for 10 gallons!
I work that out as an approximate dosage of 0.00000055% (or 0.025g in 45460ml)
That seems awfully low to me.

Anyway, has anyone any experience of Hop oil?

I know a place I can get more than I could ever possible use at a very good price

I don't think I'll ever use it in a home brew, but might be fun to dose up a flavourless larger, (like Peroni, which I think is devoid of all taste whatso ever) just to see what kind of flavour it gives.
