Guys,

I'm going to have a try doing Orfy's Hobgoblin AG clone this weekend.

I notice his recipe has an IBU of 24.8 in Beersmith.

This is made up of fuggles and styrian goldings being added at boil start and 30 mins in.

I noticed that his recipe uses hops with a different AA value than mine. For example, his fuggles are 4.5% Alpha whereas mine are 3.8%.

Do I need to adjust my recipe to take account of the different AA values to ensure my total IBU is the same as his recipe IBU?

Is that how it works? Sorry if its a basic question.

Cheers

Yes abssolutly, you will need to increase the amount of hops if the %AA is less :thumb: Just use the Forum Hop IBU calculator to claculate the adjustment
