I have the hop bong but find it faff. My last two dry hops have been in WC IPA so I picked up a second all rounder , just the vessel and got another lid collar and thermowell from Ali. I then purge with fermenting co2, dump hops in, purge again and when the main ferment is done transfer one to another so it is off the yeast.
A brewing bucket works as a temp stand for an all rounder and then it goes back on the stand when the other is empty.

The hop bong is OK but I have to tilt out the fridge and add the bong bit and prv and then open the bfly valve. Which works fine with no blockages.

This a a 6ft larder fridge that was a specific purchase to fit it in!. It’s also the first time ive used the fermzilla or done any kind of pressure fermenting or kegging.

I did manage to find a webpage with all the dimensions on but can’t anymore, I can measure it if you would like, I’ll be out there watching it a lot I suspect as it only went on on Saturday.

If anyone with more experience can spot anything wrong with how I have it set up, please let me know. It was pressure tested and sanitiser run through it to a keg so, it all works (I think)
The dump valve for the collection jar at the bottom should be open during fermentation or you will be introducing air when you do open it.
If you use it to remove yeast for reuse remember to make sure the vessel is depressurised before closing the dump valve.

It’s a fair point.

Can I purge it with CO2 prior to opening using a gas in and a prv on the other port?

I'm lucky (or us it unlucky) enough to work around the corner from BKT so can walk round at lunchtime with cash......
Johnny's prices are very competitive so I don't have the hassle of long delivery times, and he's a nice bloke that knows his stuff 👍
Will somebody put me out of my misery and Enlighten me as to what or who BKT is?
