homebrewing clubs or societies

Im aware in America homebrewing clubs/guilds/societies/whatever name they choose to give them are fairly common though I haven't really heard of any in the UK?

Im local to Huddersfield, Yorkshire and know there is a great beer culture around here. Are any of you part of clubs or groups where you can share and discuss your brews?
