Swazi included Mrs Swazi in his brewing sessions . . .then she went out and brewed a pale ale . . .that beat his in TST . . . . . . Be very careful what you bring upon yourself.:

Haha! That is absolutely brilliant!

My wife is very tolerant, but I do try and keep the AG brews to times that are as unused as possible, overnight mashes really help here as I can be done by Saturday lunchtime leaving the rest of the day free.

Wine/cider kits are fine as they can be done in under 1/2hr, and now I have the brewfridge in the garage, the house no longer smells like a brewery.

Plus, she loves my milder-tasting ales, and all the wines and ciders.

If she wasn't tolerant of it, I'd know about it very soon - I think she'd be weilding the 4x2...

The include her bit work with me for about 10 mins until she realised it wouldn't be ready straight away. Now she's content aslong as I brew something she will like aswell (which isn't easy as she refuses to try anything but cider).

I don't have the tasting vocabulary to explain exactly why, but a Saison seems to hit some of the same spots as proper cider for me. Maybe see if she likes a commercial example like Saison DuPont?

Thank for the suggestion I'll give it a go, worse comes to worst I'm sure I can for myself to drink it haha so far all she wants is strawberry cider and a cinnamon wine I am gonna try and get ready for Christmas.

In all seriousness, in my experience when a woman looks really pissed off give her chocolate and wine by the bucket load.

I seem to have a great mrs like yours PD . She never complains about my brewing , infact she started me off (what a lass )

I think its because they always know where we are !

I totally agree that comments like this are totally out of order even though they may have been meant in jest. I think this thread has run it's course and the time has come to end it now before it gets any more out of hand. I'm sure the OP has received enough answers.
