HLT/Boiler Conversions

Good evening All!

I wondered if anyone could point me in the direction of anyone who can help with an HLT conversion? Sadly, I have just learned that Muddydisco has retired, after much brilliant work. I am basically looking to convert a 70L cocotte from the French ebay website that is so popular, to become an electrically-heated HLT.

Any information would be VERY gratefully received. I am nearly ready to go AG now!

Hi Keith!

I need to know if anyone on the forum performs (or knows someone else who performs) HLT conversions from a steel pot. The plan would be to have a heating element and a sight glass welded into it.

You can buy the pots from the Malt Miller, he also does hole cutting and sells the necessary bits and pieces.

I've just done one for myself and as long as you can use a drill it's not too difficult, the specialist equipment required (cobalt drill bits and q max cutters) will cost you about £30.
