hi

came across the site looking for help identifying sloes and decided to join. i have made wine in the past and intend on doing more soon but had a taste of some sloe gin a mate of mine made and i have to make some.

Hi oakwell, cant help you with that one but welcome to the forum anyway lol. Im sure there will be someone on here who can help you out.

Hi Oakwell,

You have probably just missed the sloe's http://www.sloe.biz/sloes/index.htm They tend to grow in hedgerows and are are medium sized purple frut ( They look a little like elongated blueberries)

They can be made to make sloe gin but also in addition to elderberries and blackberries they make a excellent wine or port.

You can probably still find some blackberries/ posssibly elderberries to make wine.

Good Luck,

Brett

managed to get some today and off out tomorrow as well so i can freeze some more.
