hi iv just started my first brew, i got the coopers starter kit, which comes with 30 bottles and i want to make a second batch next week so need some more bottles, my wife works in a pub and can get me most bottles, is it ok to use any ones, are tyhey safe to use, i was thinking newcastle brown ale bottles , hope you can help

Most ale/magners bottles should be fine (though I have heard bad thinks about wychwood bottles, as they do not cap easily).

NBA bottles should be fine.

wychwood bottles will not cap with a hand capper you need the bench top capper Also it's a good idea to use brown bottles as clear bottles will let the light in causing skunking in your beer.

Clear glass effects beer as sun light changes the hops to make them smell slightly off called light struck or in the US of A skunked, so unless the bottles are kept out of the light then use brown as it stops the UV light that causes the change.
(I wonder if factor 50 would do the same  )

Magners bottles are excellent and don't foget a few crates they are great for putting kit on and even bottles in.
