Hi from West Mids

Hi,
I'm a keen amateur home brewer who brews using All Grain method. It might seem like a lot of hassle but I think its worth it and to be honest I enjoy the whole process.
I am brewing from recipes at the moment and once I'm comfortable I will start trying a few of my own ideas out.
I cask condition and dispense using a beer engine so I guess I'm whatever is smaller than a Nano brewery :lol:
I have a brew day tomorrow and will be tapping a session ale ready for England's footy game v Russia on the 11th June :grin:
If there are any home brew gatherings around North Birmingham, let me know!

Welcome Wayne, there are a few of us around teh Midlands area I just live north side of Coventry myself (near J3 M6), we do have a few HB's local I think there is someone from Tamworth actually

Plenty of us brew with grain too, leaving it a bit late for a beer for 11th though !!! :lol:

Hi Wayne, I'm also trying to get a brew done in record time for the 11th June. Though I started mine on 31st May. Here's a link to my recipe, I'd recommend skipping the dry hop step as you won't have enough time for that. Let me know what you think/how you get on. Cheers!

Welcome to the forum

If you want to do a fast turn around beer

*Keep the OG low.
*Pitch a large amount of yeast - more yeast to do the work
*Ferment near the top end of the yeast's temp range - yeast work faster when it's warmer


I regularly make Ordinary Bitters (OG usually about 1.038) and usually start drinking them 3 days after bottling

Thanks peeps. Sorry if I confused anyone. The beer I'm tapping for the 11th was brewed last month . Tomorrow I'm probably brewing a Black Sheep Bitter so that wont be ready for another 5 to 6 weeks.
I'm glad there are a few from the Midlands on here. Will be great to share a few stories and tips (not to mention the odd pint :smile:).
