Hello all,

As the subject line says I'm in Nottingham MOST of the time, I'm actually a student so come Christmas/Summers etc I'm back in the Peak District, but all the brewing happens in Notts.

I've been home brewing for about 3 years now, starting out originally because it was far cheaper than buying beer (student budget etc). Haven't got beyond the kit stage yet because of the cost of boilers but the Nottingham brewery very recently donated some yeast, so I'm pretty excited about using a top-worker for the first time.

My main reason for joining the forum was the yeast, actually; obviously I want to carry on using proper brewers yeast instead of the dried stuff so I need to learn how to progagate the stuff for re-use... if anyone could direct me to threads on the subject I'd be very grateful.

Cheers!

Josh

Hey josh,

See the link below, we regularly meet up and if you want to discuss yeast then come along one day.

Best regards.

Thanks a lot :) I've only got one more week of term so I'll disappear until January, but I've joined the group and I'm up for coming along at some point.

Whereabouts do you usually meet up?

Josh

All over really. Organ grinder, gladstone, canalhouse, roundhouse.... Any where with good beer! It'll be good to see you sometime and swap some beers perhaps.

Definitely up for that, although like I said it won't be 'til the new year.

Out of those Organ Grinder is a particular favourite, I'm in New Basford right now so the Canalhouse is a bit of a trek. Do you know the Lion in New Basford?
