Hi everyone.

I've been living in Holland for the past 10 years and really miss a proper British beer. Being a bit of a hobby chef I liked the idea of making my own beer but have never tried this before so I've been lurking around the internet reading up on the subject. I've finally taken the plunge and received a kit to make Munton's Connoiseurs IPA. I already have a question about what sugar to use but I'll post this in one of the other forums.

Anyway, I apologise for any stupid questions in advance and look forward to getting to a stage when I can do it without using tinned concentrate, assuming this all goes well

Hi, issy, and welcome to the forum.

The only stupid question is the one you didn't ask. We were all novice brewers once (except for Aleman, of course - before he was born the sperm which supplied half his DNA was already in secondary fermentation, and his mum's ovary actually produced Egg-Nog).

I'm surprised that you have a hankering for British beer, though - after all, Holland shares a border with Belgium, the country which produces 9 out of my favourite top 10 pub beers.
