Been thinking about trying out homebrewing for a while now and the week before last found that tesco direct were selling the Youn's Brew Buddy 30 bottle chardonnay kit half price at £9.50. So decided to order!

Last Saturday, followed all of the instructions (after dashing to the local HB shop to get a 5 gallon fermenting bucket and an airlock).

After 6 days, did a hydrometer check which was .990 and had to add the other ingredients, so put these in - finings etc..

So yesterday, 7 days later - wine had cleared and was really clear!

Racked into some demi johns, and PETs and then ran through a filter and bottled some up.

Really really pleased with final product - it was sparkling clear and very fruity light taste - was a bit worried as there were oak chips in the recipe and I'm not as keen on oaked wines, but should not have worried!

I've now got some WOW on in some DJ's using combinations of pineapple, apple etc - cant wait!

Help and ideas on here have been appreciated!
