Hi all. Just about to buy a coopers lager homebrew kit from my local homebrew store nearby. Really looking forward to brewing my own. My brother used to make his own beer many moons ago (25 years ago).

Is there any tips on how to make my brew nice and refreshing. Im scared in case it turns out not very nice. The kit is costing about £67. This includes 40 bottles.

The Lagers I like are Tennents and Bud, Fosters (actually most lagers). I love Cafferys and the new Strawberry ciders. Any pointers as to which kits to use.

Well I think I might be using this forum a lot in the coming moths and hopefully years.

Gary. :drink:

Looks like Ill be brewing the Coopers Australian Lager. Reviews look really good. Cant wait now. I'm like a kid before christmas. Just need the misses to let me spend the money :P

Hi Gary how you doing? you should give the Milestones raspberry beer a go, thats very good. admitting you like tennets, bud and fosters around here is a hangable offence lol. is your local brew shop the one on Dumbarton Rd in Partick or is there another one somewhere? I used to stay in Blanefield and worked at the Buchanan Hse nursing home in Bearsden. welcome to the forum.

Welcome to the forum

Being a newbie, you might get off just this once. But I wouldn't risk mentioning it again

The only homebrew shop near me is in Partick (Thornwood to give it its proper place, Im a postman lol). The Blane valley is a lovely place to stay (not in the winter tho  )

Thanks for such a warm welcome everyone. Feels friendly like the other forum I frequent (mac4mac a mac computer forum).

My parents stay in Coaltown of Wemyss, in the Kingdom of Fife.

Hi Gary. I'm new too and also from Glasgow. I did the Cooper's Australian for my last brew and it was perhaps my best yet. I think I prefer the pressure barrel. Bit of a pain cleaning all those bottles out.

Misses gave me the green light  I went to the homebrew shop and bought my Copers homebrew kit @ £65. Gonna start it tonight. Should be ready for my next holiday 2nd week in april. I'll give my son a bottle for his 17th on the 12th April

Ill keep you all posted.

Gary
