I came across the forum while searching for some advice and signed up. Been brewing for about a year now and slowly getting more into it. Hoping to learn a few things and get/share some tips & tricks.

Cheers. One thing I have been wondering is if there is a good shop in NI that I can see/smell grains, hops, etc? I use Geterbrewed and they're great but I really wish they got a shop/trade counter.

Not that I am aware of. You could try nature's way on the Newtownards road. Last I was in, they had stopped selling grains as it wasn't cost effective but they still sold hops. Unfortunately I think they have moved their attention to kits.

That's where I started getting my kits from. Still get my VPW from there. Didn't see any hops the last time I was in.

Now that you mention it, the hop selection was pretty sparse the last I was in. I can't even remember how long ago that was. During COVID though as I had to wait my turn to go in but didn't have to wear a mask. That has a 2020 vibe to it.

It's a pity we don't have something like the shops they have in the USA. Seen so many YouTube videos of people going into these places, measuring out what they need and away they go. It kills me waiting 3-4 days for an all-grain kit after I make an online order 😂

I popped into Naturesway a few months back to get some emergency yeast, and yes its all just kits now.

Welcome! My parents are in Bangor, I lived with them for 3 months during covid while I was mid house move, lovely place great people I miss it! When it was 39c here the other week they rang me and told me it was 22c 😂
