I have just finished my third batch of beer using the molasses type solution in the tins. I am not an expert by any means but would love to make a nice ale. The last batch was ok but had lots of sediment. This last time I got rid of a lot more sediment by filtering it when bottling. Have just opened a bottle after making it following the instructions closely and it is flat with no head at all. Have got half way down a pint and cannot drink any more. It is only just paletable with a splash of lemonade. This is very disappointing. Opinions would be appreciated. Too much/not enough sugar/yeast? Too hot/cold? Regards Mark

Welcome to the forum
Firstly what kit did you make was it a 1 can and kilo of sugar of a 2 can kit ? secondly you should have racked thr brew off the sediment buy not filtered it as you are removing the yeast in suspension which you need when you prime your bottles thats what gives you the fizz hope this helps

hi, welcome :)
why not give us an idea of what you're using and how you're making it - ingredients, equipment, method - and we'll be able to see where you're going wrong :)

hi and welcome,

You may benifit by racking off into a secondary fermenter after primary fermentation has finished. This will help reduce the sediment and also help age the beer. I noticed a great improvement in my beers when I started secondary fermentations.
