Hi All,
Started AG Brewing last month with my husband. I had done both wine and beer kits before and whilst fun, didn’t hold the fascination that AG does.
We have a summer lightning dupe in bottles carbonating (hopefully) which ended up at 5.25% by my calculation. We left it on the yeast for 3 weeks so hoping it will be OK. It was remarkably drinkable at the end of fermentation (given it was flat!) and had a slight alcohol burn (think we had problems cooling that day and pitched the yeast in a bit warm) so hoping that will sort itself out in the bottle.
We have just done an American style IPA from Greg Hughes book. The FG was 1060 which was bang on but we lost 3 litres somewhere along the line. Hey ho...
just waiting for that to start bubbling. We’re only at the 12 hr Mark.
Next projects are a small batch ginger beer done in a bag (I want to be able to do it on my own and I can’t lift the larger batches) and a lime and coriander....
