Hi ,

Finally got myself some equipment and a Black Rock cider kit .
Initially started in my cold garage with a brew belt and some insulation but overnight the temp hit over 30! .

After that i got hold of an old fridge , an 80w heater and a thermostat and now seem to have a resonably stable 25-26 but dont know if the initial high temp may have spoiled it already?. Have just ordered a little digital temperature controller from eBay and that should be better than the room stat I'm using at the moment.

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Chris

Thanks!

I posted a similar post on another forum and got no replys atall for 4 days and counting!

Welcome to the forum. :thumb:

Unfortunately if it did reach 30c then it will most likely have affected the flavour. Try and keep it between 18-21c especially at the beginning as this is when off flavours are formed.

See how it turns out and chalk it up to experience. :thumb:
