Been copper bashing from the bits left over from the construction of my HLT.

More progress pics as I do it, don't know when that will be.
If only I had enough time I could eat an elephant.

It certainly should have enough capacity :)

Comments welcome before I go further.

Copper and wood look somuch better than that common stainless steel
just look at old brewery coppers and mash tuns

It's the efficiency I go for, am working on a SS boiler and mash tun at present, but they will both be clad, which will hide "the look" ;)

Was going to do this heat exchanger in thermowrap, but you are right, it will be stained wood with copper bands, something different ...........and efficient. :D

think you got a bargain there Springer
Certainly did ............got the cylinder off a mate and these are left overs after making a HLT. Cost will be the element, 10mm tube and a fitting or two and a couple of brazing rods. :D

Are you a retired distiller??
No just like making things. Quite enjoyed making the ends. Plenty of heat to anneal them every time they stopped working, onto the wooden dolly. Next operation is to braze em up with copper phosphorous rods, but working on fermentation cupboard, mash tun, and boiler as well. Want to get that lot producing beer and then add the HERMS bit asap
Be a shame to clad it in wood, but that's the way its going. ;)
