Hi,

I've got my first AG out of the way and am now chomping at the bit for another beer.

I was going to order a 25Kg bag of maris otter as a base grain for future recipes from the WorcesterHopShop. If I pay the delivery on that, I think that I can get another 7Kg delivered for the same price.

I am looking to do a pale ale next. I've just done a Big Kenny. I have Challenger, Fuggles and Styrian Gioldings and S04 yeast in stock.

Can anybody give me an idea what to order to use up the extra 7Kg. Not sure what grains to keep in stock as a good base.

Would I just be better off gettin 1Kg amber malt, 1kg chocolate malt etc.

All ideas very welcome.

Thanks.

If it were me .... I'd get a couple of K of Wheat malt, couple of Munich and if they do less that a k, limit the chocolate to 500g ... you shouldn't use too much of that. The remainder - grab whatever takes your fancy. Lots of folk use Crystal in their brews .. I prefer to replace it with Munich ... but it's all a matter of taste :D

Experiment and have fun!
