I could do with a wee bit of advice...
I made a starter for with my nice new coastal haze WLP067 yeast, 1.9 litres and on to the stir plate it went, whirring away merrily for 36 hours then into the cold garage overnight to decant and make up for stage 2 today. Ah bit of a problem as it didn't clear very well to decant (I guess the 'haze' in the name should have been a clue).
Feeling a bit clever I decanted the clearer-ish part of 700ml then topped up with cooled boiled wort at a volume to make up to the aimed 2.2 litres but the full amount of DME for the second stage.
I was feeling quite chuffed with this but now realise I will have 2.2 litres of starter that isn't going to clear very well. And since @grooves pointed out that WLP067 is a blend I'm now feeling paranoid about decanting a good portion of yeast in the hazy bit at the weekend. I really really don't want to add the full 2.2 litres to my fermenter...
... any thoughts?
