Hello all

Iv'e gone and naused up.

I put in an order for grains, hops & yeast and due to receive shortly. My first brew I have planned is a Gose. 10L batch using 1kg of wheat malt in the grain bill. Problem is I have checked my receipt and I forgot to add it. Is there anything in the supermarket/health-food shop (walk in & readily available) I can use as an alternative?

What a wally.....

Many thanks in advance one and all....

I don't know that you're going to find anything in the supermarket that will truly replace malted wheat. Spelt maybe but it's probably not malted. Hopefully someone has some idea for you. If it were me, I'd probably just order the wheat and wait to brew.

Isn't there a home brew shop somewhere in East Surrey that you could drive or cycle down to and grab a kilo of wheat malt?

Thanks for the replies......

Phettebs - Thought as much. Just wondered whether there was something that was same/similar repackaged in a health food shop... Never mind.

An A - None immediately near me. Closest I'm aware of is in Brockley in South London. Not too far away (as the crow flies) but London traffic is a pain...

Might have to Ebay it at an inflated price....

Thanks. Got 2kg (Amazon) for the same price as 1kg on Ebay. Still a lot higher than MM but that will learn me..... It was my first large order of multiple grains so overlooked it...
