Just starting the deccond boil of my double brew day i have a twin element stainless boiler and well before it has reached boiling its started vibrating i tried in plugging each element singular to see if it was one of the elements but if it is its both as it happens on both of them, Has this happened to anyone else and is it safe to carry on? i have touched the boiler without thinking and didnt get a shock  Any advice/ideas??

Run for the hills she's gonna blow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm an hour in to the booil now and its stopped vibratin BTW. Cheers for the reply :thumb:

I use Lidl W5 de-scaler which has citric acid as an ingredient. Fill with water to just cover the elements and leave over night with a couple of tablets. Tend to do this every 5th brew or so, but have a a little nylon brush to scrub them after each brew

A gentle rub with a soft wire brush dipped in Cif does the business for me, then 3 or 4 rinses. I now do it as part of my clean-up every time I brew (which is becoming ridiculously often). I've never seen elements darken so quickly in anything other than a brewing boiler - must be the hop acids, I suppose.
