I just buy it then deal with a thick ear later. We have just bought a house and i want to put a keezer under the stairs and she wants to put stuff like hoovers and other lady like things in there so i will end up with a thick ear real soon

This is definitely my approach and it always costs at least half the price as it was a total bargain

Thank you everyone! These are great arguments. I'm building my case, especially as our current PB is leaking all over the floor.

Hi!
Two solutions:
A - let her put the hoovers under the stairs, then put your keezer in the middle of the living room.
B - tell her that you are the boss and things will be done your way.

Either way, book an ambulance in advance beforehand - you'll need it.

I ware the trousers in my house she just tells me which 1s to put on

Tell him it'll be just like have a pub in you house. If your any good at DIY show him some sexy piccies of kegerators/keezer an tell hime thats what your going to make(and of course tell him you can get second hand fridges/freezers from places like gumtree/craiglist/ebay for pennies)

They won't be got for pennies. Every cnut off gumtree is looking paid for stuff that, back in the day, they just would have chucked out. Seriously, take a look on your local gumtree site and you will see peeps trying to make money from any old ****. Gone are the days when people actually gave stuff away.

@Deadhead
Is there a reason why you cannot buy them yourself? Is this a case of wanting something but not willing to spend the money on it? And as a result, your other half is being lambasted for not spending the money you are unwilling to? I'm confused!

Use the time honoured system practiced by ALL wives!

The wife waits until her husband is watching something that really interests him on TV and then asks his permission to do whatever it is that they want to do.

The resulting "grunt" will be taken as a "Yes!" and whenever he objects the wife will immediately point out "YOU agreed that I should do it!" with a flash of temper followed by "You NEVER listen to me!" If the last one is accompanied by a hint of tears then so much the better!

The system has never been known to fail, especially if the wife follows up the argument by flouncing out of the room with the body language that says "Don't even try to apologise or even come near me!" and indicates that all female favours will be off the menu for the foreseeable future!

Other (younger and less experienced) men may think I'm being cynical, but all women who have been married for more than a year will know that I have rumbled them ...

... even though I am powerless to resist their wiles and guiles!

Couldn't have put it better myself, especially the "You NEVER listen to me", this comes after something has been mumbled while she's in the lounge and I'm in the kitchen.
Me "Sorry, I didn't catch what you said.
She "I'm not going to repeat myself again"
At our age Dutto, you'd think we would have learned to understand them, but no the goal posts keep moving.

Tbh, I didnt know that. I just go by what I read on the forum. I've often seen posts, whereby forumites get fridges that they intend to turn into brew fridges, for next to nothing

It is possible but you need to act fast. I seen a larder fridge that was perfect and the guy was giving it away. I phoned him and he told me someone else had just beaten me to it. So I ended up paying £80 for one. Perhaps there are more options in England but in N.I., the choices are few and far between.
