Help finding a replacement tap for my boiler

Hello,
I got a end of line electric boiler from my local brew shop. It's fine, but the tap is rubbish.

The hole is 1/2 inch, ideally I would like a ball valve tap to replace it.

I have been googling a while, but have not found anything - I either can't see what size hole it needs or it wants a 7/8 hole.

Any advice where I should look?

I have attached a picture of the hole, not much scope to enlarge it.

... with a bit of pipe like this ...

... and terminating in a Hose Adaptor.
