Hello all! I've been lurking around this forum for a couple of weeks, reading and enjoying and learning a lot, so I thought I should really join up and start joining in. Last year I was given a 25l fermentation vessel, hydrometer, siphon and bottle capper as well as a Young's Harvest Bitter kit. Within about a month of making the kit, three of my friends were impressed enough to buy their own equipment.

Now we're all eagerly trying to outdo each other with interesting brews, which have featured chilli, ginger, tamarind, and various fruits (though reading this forum I realise we've come nowhere near the inventiveness of you lot! Milk wine? Blimey.), but I'm still pretty clueless as to the actual craft of brewing, tending just to chuck a load of stuff together, add yeast and see what happens. So hopefully you won't mind when I ask stupid questions!

welcome :)

don't worry about daft q's they can't be as bad as mine haha :D everyone helps a lot and don't mind the questions (like Moley says 'the only stupid question is the one you don't ask but should have')

everyone is sooooooooo friendly you will love it here :D

Cheers!

Reading the various forums here, I'm getting inspired to go further afield than the beer kits I've been modifying thus far. I've already attempted a sarsaparilla brew, and I'm eyeing up the various turbocider and wine recipes.

Looks like I'm going to need to find more storage space soon for all the brews I want to try!
